Ironwood BBQ

Gate Park Golf Course, 47th Ave. (at Fulton)
San Francisco, CA 94121
751- 8987
Website
Some of S.F.'s best barbecue is on offer at this delightful al fresco spot overlooking the Golden Gate Park Golf Course, with a large free parking lot. Order at the counter inside the small pro shop, and then take your beverages to a table on the large shaded patio. You’ll be brought your food. It’s served on paper plates with disposable cutlery, but your attention should be on the excellent ’cue and sides. The meats are available several ways: in sandwiches or by the half-pound are our favorites. Vegetarians can try the baked cheese sandwich or homemade vegetable soup. - Meredith Brody
